Electromagnetic wire, a key downstream product of copper rod, accounts for around 22% of total copper consumption, making it one of the most important segments of the copper value chain. Despite its significance, the sector has historically received limited in-depth market analysis, even as motor and transformer manufacturers increasingly focus on developments within the electromagnetic wire industry.
In response to this gap, SMM announced plans to significantly expand its research efforts in the electromagnetic wire sector. The initiative aims to build a more comprehensive understanding of industry dynamics in order to better support downstream manufacturers and end users. As part of this effort, SMM is preparing a dedicated “China Electromagnetic Wire Industry Distribution Map,” designed to serve as a professional reference guide for companies and professionals operating across the sector. SMM has invited upstream and downstream enterprises, as well as industry associations, to participate in and supervise the project, encouraging leading companies to contribute their expertise.
The initiative has already gained strong industry backing. Suzhou Wujiang Shenzhou Bimetallic Cable Co., Ltd. has confirmed its support and is working with SMM on the development of the industry distribution map, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening the electromagnetic wire ecosystem and improving industrial chain coordination.
Based in Qidu Town—widely known as China’s “cable capital”—Suzhou Wujiang Shenzhou Bimetallic Cable was founded in 2005 and has expanded steadily over more than a decade. The company’s operations now span multiple upstream and downstream segments, including enameled wire production equipment, copper-clad aluminum base materials, wires and cables, and a wide range of copper-clad aluminum enameled wire products. Today, it is recognized as China’s largest manufacturer of copper-clad aluminum enameled wire.
Shenzhou’s product portfolio includes polyurethane, polyester, polyesterimide, and polyamide imide composite enameled wires across multiple thermal classes, as well as various self-adhesive copper-clad aluminum enameled wires. With comprehensive specifications and stock availability covering diameters from 0.100 mm to 5.000 mm, the company supplies products used in electronics, household appliances, power tools, automotive motors, transformers, inductors, chargers, ballasts, and relays.
Through strict quality control and a stable long-term supply strategy, Shenzhou Bimetallic Cable continues to play a key role in supporting the sustained development of China’s electromagnetic wire industry, as broader efforts intensify to strengthen market transparency and industrial collaboration across the sector.
