Manufacturing professionals and job shop operators looking to optimize their production lines will gather in Schaumburg, Illinois, on May 5 and 6 for the “Discover More with Mazak Midwest” event. Hosted at the Mazak Midwest Technology Center, the two-day showcase will feature live demonstrations of the latest machining systems, automation solutions, and production technologies designed to drive throughput, ensure consistent quality, and reduce setup times. Attendees will experience a wide array of equipment operating in real-world manufacturing scenarios, with opportunities to consult directly with Mazak application engineers on tailored implementation strategies to solve facility-specific production challenges.
A major focal point of the event will be Multi-Tasking technology, specifically machines built around Mazak’s DONE IN ONE processing concept. This approach enables manufacturers to convert raw material into finished parts on a single machine, eliminating the need to transfer components between systems and significantly improving overall efficiency. Highlighted models in this category include the INTEGREX j-200S NEO, HQR-250MSY, QTE-200MSY, and QRX-50MSY. These machines feature secondary turning spindles, Y-axis movement, and milling capabilities to ensure maximum dimensional accuracy. For facilities dealing with spatial constraints but requiring high-precision performance, the compact INTEGREX i-150 will be demonstrated as an ideal solution for machining small, square workpieces.
The exhibition will also span a comprehensive range of specialized machinery, from full five-axis centers to high-volume production systems. Mazak will present its VARIAXIS i-700T, a five-axis machining center equipped with integrated turning functionality to tackle complex 3D components while minimizing fixture requirements and lead times. For flexible, high-accuracy manufacturing in both high-volume and mixed-part environments, the HCN-4000 NEO horizontal machining center will be on display. Additionally, industries reliant on small, precision components—such as medical, automotive, and electronics—will get a closer look at the SYNCREX line of Swiss-type turning machines, including the 38/9, 25/9X, and 12/8 models, designed for high-speed, high-precision output.
Rounding out the extensive lineup, Mazak will highlight its Kentucky-built Ez Series, which includes the VC-Ez 20X five-axis machining center alongside vertical and CNC turning models. These machines combine a compact footprint with simplified programming and quick setups to help shops rapidly expand capacity. Finally, attendees will witness the cutting-edge intersection of additive and subtractive manufacturing with a live demonstration of the VC-500A/5X AM HWD HYBRID Multi-Tasking machine. Utilizing Hot Wire Deposition technology, this system builds near-net shapes by depositing molten metal wire before performing finish machining within the exact same unit, drastically reducing material waste, required setups, and production timelines.
