Mazak Corporation is set to highlight its latest manufacturing and automation solutions for high-precision component production at a two-day Florida Open House, scheduled for February 18–19 at its Mazak Technical Center in Orlando. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day and will focus on technologies tailored for aerospace, medical, space exploration, defense, marine defense and other advanced manufacturing sectors.

During the Open House, attendees will see a range of Mazak machine tools and automation systems operating live on real-world parts. Mazak applications engineers will also be available on site to provide expert guidance on machining strategies, process optimization and technology selection.

Live demonstrations will feature several of Mazak’s advanced machines, including the QTE-100MY Multi-Tasking Machine equipped with bar feeder automation, the VARIAXIS C-600 Vertical Machining Center, and the SYNCREX 12/8 Swiss-style Production Turning machine. Each system is designed to address specific production challenges, from complex multi-tasking operations to high-volume, ultra-precision part manufacturing.

The QTE-100MY Multi-Tasking Machine combines turning and milling capabilities with both M (milling) and Y-axis functionality, enabling off-centerline machining for increased part complexity in a single setup. The machine is equipped with an integral turning spindle capable of speeds up to 6,000 rpm and can handle part diameters of up to 13.39 inches (340 mm), with a bar capacity of 2 inches (50.8 mm). A rotary tool turret spindle further expands functionality, offering a 4,500-rpm milling spindle rated at 7.38 hp (5.5 kW) and supporting up to 12 tools.

For shops exploring or expanding into five-axis machining, Mazak will demonstrate the VARIAXIS C-600, positioned as a practical entry point into full simultaneous 5-axis operations. The machine supports multi-surface machining and offers four spindle options to balance speed and torque, ranging from a standard 12,000 rpm CAT40 spindle to 15,000 rpm, 18,000 rpm and 20,000 rpm configurations in CAT40, Big Plus or HSK A-63 formats. Tool magazine options include capacities of 30, 60, 90 or 120 tools, as well as random-access magazines designed to reduce tool change times and support short machining cycles.

High-volume production of small, high-precision parts will be showcased through the SYNCREX 12/8 Swiss-style Production Turning machine. The eight-axis system handles maximum turning diameters of 0.4724 inches (12 mm) and supports up to 27 tools, including 19 static and eight live tools. The machine is powered by the MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC, which incorporates Mazak Swiss Setup Assist for faster job setups and Mazak Dynamic Chip Control to improve chip management. Additional CNC features include tool touch-off, part cut-off, retract point and start position functions, along with full synchronous control of all axes for simultaneous turning, drilling and rigid tapping.

Mazak said the Florida Open House is designed to give manufacturers a hands-on look at how advanced machine tools, automation and CNC technologies can improve productivity, precision and flexibility in demanding industries. By demonstrating real-world applications and providing direct access to technical experts, the company aims to help manufacturers better understand how to apply next-generation machining solutions to their specific production needs.
