Dutch material lift manufacturer Alp Lift has regained the rights to market its products under the Alp Lift brand in Germany, Austria, and several other markets where the name was previously registered by truck-mounted crane and hoist maker Böcker. The move follows an amicable agreement between the two companies.
Alp Lift launched its first material lift range in 1986 and quickly gained a strong following in the Benelux region, challenging incumbents such as Genie. In 1987, Robert Böcker, son of Böcker founder Albert Böcker, established Robert Böcker GmbH, producing material lifts and one-person push-around lifts. He also marketed his machines under the Alp Lift name, collaborating closely with the Dutch manufacturer.
Following Albert Böcker’s death in 1990, Robert assumed control of the Böcker companies, effectively reuniting them. However, in 2012, Böcker enforced its Alp Lift trademark in Germany and Austria, prompting the Dutch company to adopt the name Groenlift in those markets.
Commenting on the recent agreement, Alp Lift stated: “What belongs together, comes together again. This marks a natural step in bringing together years of shared expertise. After a long period of operating in separate markets, that expertise is now united once again under the single name: Alp Lift.”
The company added that for customers and partners, the reunification provides clarity, continuity, and reliability, with a single recognizable brand for Alp material lifts across Europe. Service, maintenance, and spare parts for all Alp Lift branded lifts, including those previously marketed by Böcker, will now be managed under the unified brand.
Alp Lift has grown significantly over the past decade, expanding into aerial lift distribution and rental, becoming the first Dingli dealer in Europe, and more recently taking on the distribution of Zoomlion aerial lifts. The company expressed gratitude to Böcker Maschinenwerke for its trust and looks forward to continued collaboration with Böcker customers.
