Newark-based machinery dealer Global Machinery Solutions has appointed Alan Shea as Head of Construction to support the expansion of SANY equipment sales across the East Midlands. The appointment comes as the company broadens its regional footprint, recently extending its operational territory to include Leicestershire alongside its established coverage across Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire.
In his new position, Shea will oversee construction sales and service strategies across the complete SANY product portfolio. His responsibilities will include managing the sales and aftersales support of excavators, telehandlers, and rollers, serving customers involved in construction, recycling, and infrastructure development projects. His role will also cover the company’s newly introduced range of SANY material handlers, further strengthening Global Machinery Solutions’ offering in heavy-duty equipment solutions.
Shea joins the company from the Rygor Group and brings extensive industry experience gained over several decades. Commenting on his appointment, he highlighted SANY’s growing reputation for delivering quality and cost-effective machinery across sectors such as construction, recycling, infrastructure, and aggregates. He also expressed enthusiasm about supporting customers throughout the East Midlands while contributing to the company’s regional growth strategy.
The appointment reflects Global Machinery Solutions’ ongoing investment in strengthening its presence in the East Midlands and enhancing customer support capabilities. Managing Director Edward Baker noted that Shea’s arrival coincides with a significant growth phase for the company, following the expansion of its machinery range and its recent recognition as Dealer of the Year at the national SANY network conference. Baker emphasized that Shea’s expertise will help elevate the company’s standards in sales, service, and technical product support across the region.
