As it marks a century since receiving its Royal Charter in 1925, The Textile Institute (TI) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a bold international expansion strategy. Following its successful 63rd World Conference in Porto, Portugal, the Institute is now turning its attention to Asia, showcasing its global mission at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 in Singapore.
Exhibiting at Stand B105 in Hall 8, TI is presenting as a reciprocal member of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA), reflecting its long-standing commitment to partnership and industry collaboration. The relationship between the two organizations has deepened with the appointment of BTMA CEO Jason Kent as TI’s new Commercial Vice President, signaling renewed synergy between professional development and industrial innovation.

Through its Corporate Membership program, The Textile Institute offers organizations access to a worldwide network of professionals, cutting-edge research, and industry-led training. Members also benefit from global visibility, exclusive networking events, and professional accreditation — strengthening their competitiveness in an evolving market.
TI’s leadership emphasizes that the next industrial chapter will be defined by cross-sector collaboration, with emerging opportunities in technical textiles, energy storage, future mobility, and advanced infrastructure. The Institute aims to empower manufacturers, SMEs, and innovators alike through education, chartered qualifications, and collaborative research initiatives.
With active members in more than 60 countries, TI continues to embody its founding principle — “not of Manchester, but international.” As it celebrates 100 years of progress, The Textile Institute reaffirms its mission to connect, educate, and inspire the global textile community while shaping the next century of industry transformation.
